Residential Duct Cleaning Process:
Step 1
Power Vacuum Truck arrive at your home(Total Duct Cleaning truck will need space in your driveway).
Step 2
Uniformed certified Total Duct Cleaning Technician,introduces himself and presents his identification.
Step 3
To protect hardwood floors and carpeting, shoes are removed or covered with booties.
Step 4
Total Duct Technician does a walk-through with the owner to assess the layout, describe the work to be done, and answer any questions that home owner may have.
Step 5
Total Duct Technician will run the heating and cooling equipment through a cycle to verify that it is operational.
Step 6
Total Duct Technician does a walk-through with the owner to determines air duct layout and evaluates accessibility, describe the work to be done, and answer any questions that home owner may have.
Step 7
Total Duct Technician lays out protective coverings on sensitive flooring or carpet across which the vacuum hose will be routed.
Step 8
Total Duct Technician unloads lengths of vacuum hose and other equipment that will be needed on the job.

Total Duct Technician laid out vacuum hose from the Power Vacuum Truck, into the house and over to the furnace area.

Total Duct Technician creates an 8” circular access opening in both the supply main and the return main. These are the openings to which the vacuum hose will be attached during cleaning.

Total Duct Technician Truck is started and the vacuum is engaged to create a strong air flow throughout your air duct system. The vacuum-induced air flow continues during the entire air duct cleaning process.

Total Duct Technician goes to each register in your home and uses a special air nozzle (connected to a 175 psi air compressor mounted on the truck) to flush dust and debris downward toward the vacuum.
Step 14
Total Duct Technician in the basement uses cutting tools to create a series of smaller access openings in the air ducts for the continued use of agitation tools to loosen dirt and debris so the air flow can carry it to the vacuum hose.
Step 15
Total Duct Technician use agitation tools such as whips and air snakes must be run back and forth across every square inch of every interior surface in each duct. The loosened dust and debris is then carried by the air flow down to the vacuum hose and out to the truck where it is captured.
Step 16
Total Duct Technician does a one-inch access openings are sealed with injection molded pop-in plugs.
Step 17
Total Duct Technician sealed larger access openings with custom made sheet metal plates secured by self-tapping screws to return air ducts to a like-new condition.
Step 18
Total Duct Technician reassembles all components.
Step 19
Total Duct Technician runs heating and cooling equipment through a cycle once again to verify that it is operational.
Step 20
Total Duct Technician applies a service sticker showing date of air duct cleaning, deordorizing and sanitizing, Technician names, and suggested date for next air duct cleaning, along with recommended filter type and size information..
Step 21
Total Duct Technician removed all equipment and supplies from the jobsite and stowed on the truck.
Step 22
Total Duct Technician conducts a final walk-through, requests customer signoff and payment, and departs.
